Use your connected restaurant’s figures to answer a specific business question.

• Review a day. “Show yesterday’s sales, payments collected, refunds and unpaid balance.”
• Compare trading periods. “Compare the last seven complete days with the seven before.”
• Find best sellers. “Which five products sold the most units last week?”

Each reporting period can cover 1–31 days. Check the dates, business timezone and currency returned with the result. Sales assigned to an order date and payments collected during a period answer different questions; they need not be the same amount.

An authorised restaurant administrator can use ChatGPT as a waiter-style assistant for simple table orders.

For example, in a demo with the matching menu items and table: “Prepare two Americanos and a cheese sandwich for Table 6. Show me the preview before saving.” This is an example prompt, not a customer order or a returned ChatGPT result.

1. Find the table and products. Use the connected menu and table list. Resolve an unclear product name or table before preparing the order.
2. Review the preview. Check the restaurant, table, selected products, quantities, prices, charges and total. If the table already has an eligible open order, check which order will receive the additions.
3. Confirm in a separate message. Approve the exact preview only when it matches the request. A preview alone does not save an order.
4. Check the saved result. Confirmed new lines enter the kitchen queue and the order remains unpaid. Physical printing depends on the venue’s printer setup. Take payment in POSMENTOR.

If the result is unclear, check the original operation and the order in POSMENTOR before trying again. Do not prepare a replacement order.

This is an administrator-operated connection. Orders needing modifier choices, bundles, weighed items or unsupported discounts belong in the POS application. Staff must check dietary and allergen requests through the restaurant’s normal process.

Prepare the change.
Check the prices.

Find menu items and read their descriptions and prices. For supported catalogue changes, you can create a product group, add a standard product to an existing owned group, or prepare a change to one supported field on an existing product.

A new product needs explicit eat-in, takeaway and delivery prices. Do not assume that a missing price is zero or that changing one service price changes the others. Check the group, product and prices in the preview before confirming.

POSMENTOR uses Model Context Protocol (MCP) to give ChatGPT access to supported restaurant operations. You need an active restaurant administrator account, a valid subscription or trial, and the relevant enabled features. Reports, menu management and table service are checked against your account permissions.

Public directory availability has not been confirmed. Ask us for a connection demo and to check access for your ChatGPT account or workspace.

1. Check custom connection access. ChatGPT’s available connection controls depend on your account and workspace permissions. Follow OpenAI’s current custom MCP setup instructions.
2. Use the POSMENTOR server. For an authorised custom connection, the server URL is https://mcp.posmentor.com/mcp. Select OAuth and sign in on the POSMENTOR authorisation page. Keep your password out of chat.
3. Review access, then check the restaurant. Start by asking which restaurant is connected. Try a sales or menu question before preparing any business change.
